The Protectowire Co. is an ISO-9001 registered company with almost 70 years history. The company is world leader in manufacturing of Special Hazard Fire Alarm Systems. Even in present days, linear heat detection systems are the most adequate and reliable solution for special hazard application, such as vehicular tunnels, light and heavy duty industrial applications, aircraft hangars, outdoor fire detection, hard to access applications (cable collectors), etc. The detector owns excellent features and performance, but we should emphasize, its extraordinary reliability against false alarms, its conventional nature (representing interoperability), and mostly - the Alarm Point Location feature of the Protectowire Fire Systems control panels, which can determine the exact point of overheat, within the detector's length. The diversity of temperature ratings, in the detector's range, and the different final sheaths of Protectowire, makes it applicable in all environmental conditions.                                               

The Protectowire Linear Heat Detector is manufactured in five different temperature ratings:  68.3°С, 87.8°С, 105°С, 137.8°С, and 180°С. Depending on the type of the model, maximum ambient temperature must not exceed 60÷70% from the alarm threshold. Depending on the chemical and mechanical harshness of the environment, there are three suitable models of the cover sheaths, and they are model ЕРС - vinyl jacket, model EPN - nylon plus vinyl, and model EPR - polypropylene elastomer jacket. You can verify the chemical resistance of the EPC, EPN, and EPR models.  

Special attention must be paid on the Protectowire model Tri-Wire, contrasting with the feature to generate a pre-alarm condition, which grants ability for handling of the possible emergency situation before bursting of serious fire. Second level of detection aims releasing of fire extinguishing agents, when the situation is critically out of control. This detector is manufactured with vinyl outer jacked.

 As a serious benefit, we can point, that different types of detectors are fully electrically compatible, i.e. if there is any necessity of crossing areas with different environmental temperature levels, within a same fire zone, it's not a problem. We should only splice different types by utilizing universal splice terminal. Wonderfully!...   

Together with the range of detectors, Protectowire Fire Systems offers wide range of conventional control panels. From 2 to 52 initiating fire zone and form 1067 to 1524 meters of Protectowire per zone (depends on the control panel type), are only part of the features of the Protectowire Fire Systems Control Panels. As an options you can find Alarm Point Location meter, PCLC touch screen, high class protection enclosures, and intrinsically safe circuits support. All initiating circuits support two or four-wire fire loops (representing the ability of a circuit to continue its functioning, when there is one fault point across its length). The Protectowire Fire Systems Control Panels are able to manage all known Fire Extinguishing Systems.
